Its academic model combines studio practice, technical instruction, creative exploration and professional education. Architecture is one of the university’s central professional disciplines. Planning education addresses urban and regional development. Fine arts programmes support visual and creative practice. Design forms an important bridge between art, technology and professional application. Engineering and emerging technologies complement the university’s architecture-and-design mission. Studio, workshop and project-based learning are central to academic delivery. The university is located in Y.S.R. Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. YSRAFU was created after state bifurcation to provide a dedicated institution within Andhra Pradesh. The university’s statutory framework emerged from amendment of the earlier JNAFAU legislation. Undergraduate and postgraduate academic calendars began from the 2020–21 institutional phase. 2019 — Legislative amendment provisions were prepared to establish a new university in Kadapa. 2020 — Y.S.R. Kadapa became the headquarters of the new specialist university. 2020–21 — The first academic calendar for new entrants commenced.
