VIT-AP University is a state private university at Inavolu in the Amaravati capital region of Andhra Pradesh, established in 2017 by the Vellore Institute of Technology educational group. The foundation stone for the Amaravati campus was laid on 3 November 2016, when the VIT-AP STARS scholarship initiative for high-performing rural government-college students was also announced. national regulator records list 23 May 2017 as the establishment or gazette-notification date.
