Godavari Global University is a state private university near Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh that took university form in 2024. Its institutional history reaches back to 1998, when Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology began with an intake of 180 students. Over more than two decades, the predecessor institution expanded in scale, academic breadth, research activity and industry engagement before transitioning into the university structure. The university currently organizes education through major schools in computing, engineering and sciences, while drawing on the established infrastructure and academic culture of GIET. The university can build interdisciplinary programmes and research around an existing technical base while continuing the institution's regional role in the Godavari districts and the wider Andhra Pradesh higher-education landscape. Its 2024 transition preserves the engineering and technology heritage of GIET while providing a framework for broader university-level academic growth. Its academic model also supports progression across related disciplines while maintaining the institution's established educational strengths. This combination gives students access to academic breadth, practical exposure and structured opportunities for further study.
