Vasireddy Venkatadri International Technological University Summary
Vasireddy Venkatadri International Technological University (VVITU) is a state private university at Nambur in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, created by converting the established Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology into a brownfield university. The sponsoring Social Educational Trust was registered in 2006, and the predecessor engineering institution subsequently developed a strong technical-education presence at Nambur. Over time, the college expanded engineering programs, laboratories, accreditation and industry partnerships before moving toward autonomous and then university-level status. The Andhra Pradesh legislature added VVITU to the state's private-university schedule through Act No. 11 of 2025, effective from 8 April 2025. The new university retains engineering and technology as its principal academic strength while adding business and broader interdisciplinary study. Academic organization includes the School of Engineering and Sciences and the APPA School of Business, with programs designed around industry readiness, research and contemporary technology. Computing education is supported by specialized facilities such as Google Code Labs and other advanced computer laboratories. The institution's academic culture emphasizes discipline, practical learning, skill development, innovation and professional preparation. The Guntur-Amaravati-Vijayawada region gives students access to a growing technology, infrastructure, business and government corridor in Andhra Pradesh. VVITU's transformation allows an experienced engineering institution to operate with university-level curricular autonomy and a wider research mandate. The university continues building postgraduate, research, management and interdisciplinary programs while drawing on the faculty and infrastructure of its predecessor college. Its current university framework dates from 2025, while programs, research activity, student services and external partnerships continue to develop. The Guntur location shapes opportunities for field exposure, internships, professional interaction and community engagement relevant to the institution's academic profile. Laboratory, library, digital-learning and student-support resources complement classroom teaching and practical work across the university. Research, seminars, projects and co-curricular activity give students additional settings in which to apply concepts beyond scheduled classes.
