Vidya University is a state private university in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, established under the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities framework with effect from 14 October 2024. The university is sponsored by Vidya Bal Mandli Society and builds on the educational ecosystem previously known as Vidya Knowledge Park on the Baghpat Bypass in Meerut. Before university status, the campus had already developed engineering, management, fashion, law, teacher education, sports and school-level institutions serving western Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi-NCR region. The 2024 statutory transition brought these established academic activities into a unified university framework with its own governing body, executive council, academic council, examination systems and research structures. Vidya University's current faculties include computer science and engineering, basic and allied sciences, pharmacy, commerce and business, design and liberal arts, legal studies, education and sports, together with allied-health fields. Programs span diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels across engineering, computing, biotechnology, forensic science, pharmacy, business, commerce, design, media, law, education and other disciplines. Technology-oriented offerings include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science and Internet of Things pathways. The university also continues the creative and professional traditions of the earlier Vidya Knowledge Park through design, multimedia, fine arts, teacher education and sports. The Meerut location provides access to western Uttar Pradesh and the wider Delhi-NCR education and employment market. Vidya University continues integrating its predecessor institutions while expanding research, interdisciplinary programs and university-level governance. Its current university framework dates from 2024, while programs, research activity, student services and external partnerships continue to develop. Laboratory, library, digital-learning and student-support resources complement classroom teaching and practical work across the university. Professional programs follow the standards and approval requirements of the relevant statutory or professional bodies where applicable. Research, seminars, projects and co-curricular activity give students additional settings in which to apply concepts beyond scheduled classes.
