IIMT University is a state private university in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, established under Uttar Pradesh Act No. 32 of 2016. Its institutional roots reach back to the Association of Management Studies, a registered society formed by seven Rotarians in 1994. The society established an AICTE-approved college in Meerut and gradually expanded into a wider education group with colleges, schools and a hospital before creating the university. University status brought these decades of institutional experience into a multidisciplinary framework. IIMT University offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across engineering and technology, architecture, sciences, business management, hotel and tourism, pharmacy, mass communication, humanities, agricultural sciences, education, law and related fields. This breadth reflects the evolution from a professional-college group into a comprehensive private university. The Meerut campus emphasizes applied learning, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and career development. Laboratories, digital learning systems, libraries, workshops, sports facilities and student services support the academic structure. The university's Delhi-NCR proximity also helps connect programmes with employers and professional networks across western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region. The statutory university was gazette-notified in September 2016. Subsequent academic development included school-level reorganization and expansion into humanities, agriculture and doctoral research alongside the group's established technical and professional strengths. The university therefore combines a 1994 institutional lineage with a 2016 university identity. Its growth illustrates a common but important private-university pathway: long-running colleges and professional institutions consolidated under a single university governance system. IIMT University continues to use that base to expand multidisciplinary teaching, research and industry-oriented education in Meerut.
