Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur is a specialized state public university established under the Uttar Pradesh AYUSH University Act, 2020. The legislation created a dedicated university for teaching, training, research, treatment, and academic regulation across Indian systems of medicine and allied disciplines. The university is located at Pipri in the Bhathat area of Gorakhpur and has been planned as the central AYUSH university for Uttar Pradesh. Its academic mandate covers Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, Sowa-Rigpa, pharmacy, nursing, paramedical sciences, and related subjects as prescribed within the university framework. In addition to university teaching, the Act provides for affiliation, supervision, regulation, and examination of government and privately managed AYUSH colleges.
