VIDHYADEEP UNIVERSITY Summary
Vidhyadeep University is a state private university at Anita near Kim in Olpad taluka, Surat district, Gujarat, established with effect from 1 June 2022. The university was created through Gujarat Act No. 7 of 2022 and the national regulator subsequently included it in the list of universities maintained under Section 2(f) of the regulator Act. Its institutional roots predate university status through the Vidhyadeep education group, which developed professional and general higher education before the 2022 transition. The university's constituent academic ecosystem includes engineering and technology, pharmacy, management, computer applications, sciences, nursing and allied health, law, design, arts and other professional fields. University status allowed the institution to coordinate these areas through common academic regulations, governance structures and multidisciplinary degree pathways. Teaching emphasizes practical learning, laboratories, entrepreneurship, innovation and professional skills alongside classroom foundations. The campus at Anita serves students from the Surat, Kim, Olpad and wider South Gujarat region and provides a setting close to manufacturing, textiles, chemicals and rapidly growing urban industries. Research, seminars, academic councils and institutional development planning have expanded as the university has matured. The first years of university operation focused on integrating existing colleges and standardizing academic processes under the new statutory framework. Vidhyadeep University continues broadening multidisciplinary programs while using the experience of its predecessor institutions and faculty base. Its current university framework dates from 2022, while programs, research activity, student services and external partnerships continue to develop. Laboratory, library, digital-learning and student-support resources complement classroom teaching and practical work across the university. Professional programs follow the standards and approval requirements of the relevant statutory or professional bodies where applicable. Research, seminars, projects and co-curricular activity give students additional settings in which to apply concepts beyond scheduled classes. The university's development reflects changing expectations around employability, interdisciplinary study, innovation and technology-enabled learning.
