Mandya University is a state public university headquartered on M.C. Road in Mandya, Karnataka. Its institutional foundation is Government College, Mandya, a public college established in 1948 that later obtained autonomous status and developed substantial undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The Karnataka State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2019 created Mandya University and initially organized it around Government College (Autonomous), Mandya. Subsequent statutory amendments expanded the university into an affiliating institution with territorial jurisdiction across Mandya district, while the historic government college became its constituent college.
