IEC University is a state private university at Atal Shiksha Kunj, Kallujhanda in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. It was established through the IEC University Act, 2012 passed by the Himachal Pradesh State Legislature. The campus lies on the Pinjore-Nalagarh corridor, around 30 kilometres from Chandigarh, giving it access to the Chandigarh-Panchkula-Solan industrial and educational region while remaining in the Shivalik foothills. The university is multidisciplinary, with teaching across engineering and technology, computer applications, commerce and management, sciences, humanities, law, pharmacy, architecture, design and other professional areas. Programmes range from diploma and undergraduate study to postgraduate and research levels. As a state private university, it is empowered to award degrees within the UGC framework, while professional programmes such as pharmacy and law follow the requirements of their respective statutory councils. IEC University combines a residential campus setting with applied professional education.
