Sports and shooting events
The university’s sports notices listed competitions across individual and team disciplines, including athletics, basketball, chess, kabaddi, judo, table tennis, tug of war and yogasana. The shooting schedule covered men’s and women’s 10m air rifle and 10m air pistol, as well as mixed-team events in both categories.
For shooting, each participating college or institute could submit up to five entries in each individual event and up to two teams in each mixed event. The competition was to follow National Rifle Association of India rules. The event notice also stated that participants who met the prescribed qualifying score could be considered for selection to represent GGSIPU in an inter-university championship, subject to eligibility and selection requirements.
What participants needed
- Bring an original college or institute identity card for registration and verification.
- Shooting participants needed an NRAI or state shooter ID card and the required shooting equipment.
- Institutes had to submit the signed eligibility proforma at the venue at least one hour before the relevant event.
- Participants were instructed to report at the scheduled time; late arrivals could be refused entry to the competition.
The championship connects students from GGSIPU’s university schools, centres and affiliated institutes through organised competition. Its reported participation figure signals the reach of the annual meet, while the official shooting schedule confirms that the 2026 programme included a dedicated 10m championship. The university’s notices set the event dates as 14–16 October; readers should use those notices as the reference for the official schedule.
