CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2026: Applications Closed, Results Declared

Update as of October 31, 2026: The application notice in this topic is from the earlier 2026 supplementary examination cycle. Applications are no longer open, the Class 12 supplementary examination has been held, and CBSE declared the result on August 12. Students should not treat the old application announcement as a current registration opportunity.

CBSE referred to the examination as the Class XII Supplementary Examination 2026 in its official notices. Regular students were registered through their schools using the List of Candidates (LOC) process. Private candidates submitted examination forms separately through the CBSE application facility. The board also issued revised schedule information for the examination.

How the application process worked

For regular students, schools submitted the LOC through the CBSE school examination portal. Students needed to contact their school to confirm their eligibility and ensure their subject and candidate details were entered correctly. Private candidates used the separate online form facility specified in CBSE’s notice. The board issued separate instructions for these routes, so candidates needed to follow the process applicable to their status.

CBSE posted an extension notice on July 7 for regular-student LOC submissions and private-candidate forms. It later published the revised Senior Secondary supplementary date sheet on July 17. Because the process has ended and the result is out, those application instructions are now useful as a record of the completed cycle, not as steps to apply today.

Exam and result updates

The supplementary examination took place on July 28, 2026. CBSE declared the Class XII Supplementary Examination result on August 12. Students who appeared should use the board’s official result services to access their result information and follow CBSE’s post-result notices if they need verification or re-evaluation facilities. The board published a separate notice about post-result services on August 27.

Students who need to confirm their current academic status should review the result and contact their school where necessary. Keep the roll number, admit card details and result record available when using official services. Instructions and deadlines for any post-result facility are separate from the original application window.
