TWIN programs in German and English with identical curricula are bundled under the umbrella of their parent qualifications, while independent international and advanced-training programs are treated separately.
Admission is handled at the program level. International applicants can apply through THWS application route and submit foreign certificates through uni-assist if required. Most winter programs are open from May 1st to July 15th, with earlier deadlines for many of the English programs. Before submitting, applicants should check the teaching language, entry semester, subject prerequisites, selection procedure and document route. International School or University Qualifications External evaluation, certified translations, APS documentation where applicable or other proof of academic equivalence may be required. Master’s committees may require module descriptions, portfolios, writing samples, professional experience or interviews. Funding (e.g. BAföG for eligible students, Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards) is available, but each funding application is evaluated separately from admission.
Career preparation is based on the subject mix of the university and does not necessarily guarantee a placement scheme. Strong applied-learning contexts include automotive suppliers, manufacturers, healthcare organisations, engineering firms, design and media employers, logistics providers, social services, and regional businesses. Internships, applied projects, research assistantships, employer events, language development, entrepreneurship services, international mobility and an externally partnered thesis can help students to improve professional readiness. THWS is an excellent choice for students who want a broad technical and professional portfolio, bilingual TWIN study and the opportunity to get to know two different Bavarian city economies.
