North German Academy of Finance and Tax Law Hamburg (NoA Hamburg) Summary
This master file represents the course portfolio with 1 undergraduate entries and 1 postgraduate entries. Tax Administration is part of undergraduate study No Postgraduate Degree (Independent) Offered Each entry preserves the official parent qualification and nests pathways or concentrations within the specialisation field instead of inflating them into separate degrees. Where the institution does not award doctorates independently, this record describes only credible cooperative doctoral research routes and notes that formal admission is to a doctoral-awarding partner.
The three-year Diplom-Finanzwirt model, consisting of 21 months of university study and 15 months of practical training in the finance offices of the sending state, is open only to finance candidates appointed by the participating tax administrations. Applicants should check the current program page for the exact intake, language of instruction, academic requirements, selection method and document route before applying. International certificates may require certified translations, proof of equivalency, APS documentation for relevant countries or other language proof. Master’s committees may require module descriptions, credit details, professional experience, a portfolio, a motivation statement or an interview. Admission to doctoral studies is separate from bachelor and master enrolment and requires a suitable topic, supervision, funding and formal acceptance by the awarding university.
The internal degree is tuition-free, candidates receive the status of trainee civil servant and statutory pay, benefits and conditions are binding under the service rules of the sending State. Tuition fees quoted do not normally include housing, food, health insurance, residence formalities, private travel and optional project costs. Applicants will be subject to the live fee schedule and signed study contract. Funding can be given as BAföG (for eligible students), Deutschlandstipendium (where available), DAAD or Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, employer sponsorship, education funds or paid research and student assistant jobs. Each award is assessed independently of admission.
Career preparation is aligned with the tax administrations of Hamburg, Bremen and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, assessment, audit, collection, appeals, investigation support, public finance and fiscal training and does not represent a guarantyd placement service. Students develop their employability through three-state finance-office rotations, tax cases, accounting, legal analysis, taxpayer communication, digital procedures, fixed small-group teaching and professional examinations. Alumni and professional networks provide mentoring, industry insight and contacts but the student has the ultimate responsibility for applications and career decisions. This institution is particularly relevant for applicants who seek a selective, tuition-free, paid entry route into tax administration for those ready for intensive law, accounting and public service study, provided that prior education, language evidence, study format and financing meet current program conditions.
