The WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is a business school and private university located in Vallendar, Rhineland-Palatinate. The WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is a private, state-recognised “Universität” (university) with a focus on business, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, leadership and management research at its campuses in Vallendar and Düsseldorf. Its institutional development includes 1984 — WHU was established on the initiative of the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The founding idea was to create a university run by business for business, but independent in its academics. Today, its academic profile ranges from international business administration, management, finance, entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, supply chain, accounting, economics, organisational behaviour, business analytics, leadership and responsible management. Admission is to program level. Bachelor candidates submit WHU’s online application and undergo the multi-stage selection process. Master’s applicants should hold a relevant degree, practical experience, evidence of English and an accepted admissions test (where applicable); MBA applicants should have a great deal of work and leadership experience. Applicants should check the teaching language, entry semester, subject prerequisites, selection procedure and document route before submission. International School or University Qualifications External evaluation, certified translations, APS documentation where applicable or other proof of academic equivalence may be required. Master’s committees may require module descriptions, portfolios, writing samples, professional experience or interviews. Admission to doctoral studies is separate from admission to bachelor's or master's studies, and usually requires a viable research proposal, eligibility for supervision and formal acceptance by the relevant faculty.
The tuition fee for bachelor programs is €9,100 per semester for the 2026 intake. The MSc tuition fees are €33,000 for eligible 90-credit tracks and €40,400 for 120-credit tracks. The full-time MBA costs €49,500. Internal doctoral researchers are exempt from tuition fees. External doctoral candidates pay an admission fee of € 1,000 and € 3,000 per semester. These institutional costs do not include rent, health insurance, food, learning materials, residence formalities, project costs or personal travel. Special tuition may be applied to continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree or long-term study formats if this is provided for by the relevant law or program regulation. Funding can be BAföG for eligible students, Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards. However, every funding application is evaluated separately from admission.
