University of Music Würzburg is a public university of music located in Würzburg, Bavaria. The University of Music Würzburg is one of the oldest public institutions of higher education for music in Germany and offers conservatory-level performance training as well as studies in composition, conducting, pedagogy, teacher training, music scholarship and cooperative doctoral programs. Admission is on a program-to-program basis. The main application period is published as January 15 to March 15 for winter 2026/27. Applicants submit program-specific documents and recordings as appropriate, followed by an artistic, theory, aural-skills, interview or academic selection process. The applicant needs to check the teaching language, semester of entry, subject requirements, selection procedure and route of documents before submitting the application. International School or University Qualifications External evaluation, certified translations, APS documentation where applicable or other proof of academic equivalence may be required. Special tuition may be applied in the case of continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree or long-term study formats, if provided for by the relevant law or program regulation. It is not a guarantyd placement scheme and career preparation reflects the mix of subjects at university. Professional preparation is provided through individual tuition, orchestras, choirs, ensembles, opera, church practice, jazz projects, school placements, recording, research, public concerts and regional co-operation, but placement is not guaranteed.
