Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University (JRSU), Ranchi is a specialized state university created to develop professionally trained human resources for policing, internal security, forensic services, cyber security, private security and allied fields. The Government of Jharkhand established the university in 2016 under the Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University Act. Its creation formed part of a broader effort to introduce university-level education specifically connected with security administration and criminal justice. JRSU describes itself as the first institution of its kind in Jharkhand and among the earliest specialized security universities in India. The university operates from Ranchi while a permanent campus has been planned on a substantially larger site near Khunti.
