In general, EU and EEA students do not pay tuition for regular degrees. Under Baden-Württemberg law, non-EU students typically pay €1,500 per semester plus the semester fee, published each semester, which is currently €188 for winter 2026/27; however, legal exemptions and specially priced programs may vary. These institutional fees do not cover the cost of rent, health insurance, food, learning materials, residence formalities, project costs and personal travel. If provided for by the relevant law or program regulation, special tuition may be provided for continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree, or long-term study formats. Funding (e.g. BAföG for eligible students, Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards) is available, but each funding application is evaluated separately from admission.
The university’s subject mix also reflects the career preparation but is not a guarantyd placement scheme. Practical semesters, student projects, theses and graduate recruitment are supported by regional partners from the automotive, engineering, logistics, retail, tourism, health, software, consulting and manufacturing sectors. Students may improve their professional readiness through internships, applied projects, research assistantships, employer events, language development, entrepreneurship services, international mobility and an externally partnered thesis.
