Program-level admission is handled. Applications are made via the EH Freiburg portal. The application process for bachelor’s routes follows program-specific rules on selection and placement. Continuing master’s courses require professional experience and can charge significant tuition fees. Before submitting, applicants must verify the language of instruction, the entry semester, the subject prerequisites, the selection procedure, and the document route. International School or University Qualifications External evaluation, certified translations, APS documentation where applicable or other proof of academic equivalence may be required. Master’s committees may ask for module descriptions, portfolios, writing samples, professional experience, or interviews. Admission to doctoral studies differs from admission to bachelor’s or master’s degrees and usually requires a feasible research proposal, suitable supervision and formal acceptance by the responsible faculty.
Regular programs: €280 study contribution per semester + administrative and Studierendenwerk fees. Continuing programs have a separate tuition, e.g. the five semester Supervision and Coaching master publishes € 12,500 plus teaching supervision. These institutional fees do not include rent, health insurance, food, learning materials, residence formalities, project costs and personal travel. Special tuition may be applied in the case of continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree or long-term study formats, if provided for by the relevant law or program regulation. Funding may include BAföG for eligible students, the Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards, but each funding application is assessed independently from admission.
Career preparation is in line with the University’s subject mix and not a guarantyd placement scheme. Practice and employment are supported by welfare organisations, childcare centers, schools, churches, counselling practices, municipalities, NGOs, migration services, peacebuilding initiatives and international partners. Students may enhance their professional preparedness through internships, applied projects, research assistantships, employer events, language development, entrepreneurship services, international mobility and an externally partnered thesis.
