BHT Berlin, known as the Berliner Hochschule für Technik, focuses on applied engineering, computing, natural sciences, architecture, planning, media, and business. 1823: One thread in the history of the institution’s predecessor started with a Berlin gardening school. 1829 — Christian Peter Wilhelm Beuth was involved in the founding of a technical institute in Berlin. This file represents the current study portfolio with 34 undergraduate and 25 postgraduate entries. Undergraduate options include Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Construction, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering – Construction, Industrial Engineering – Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering – Energy and Environmental Resources. Examples at postgraduate level are Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction and Real Estate Management, Data Science, Biotechnology and Management and Consulting, Optometry, Industrial Engineering – Energy and Environmental Resources. Concentrations and academic themes are listed separately as specialisations, while the program names are kept at the course level. It provides over seventy successive programs. It provides collaborative doctoral programs and also autonomous doctoral programs where allowed.
Language, semester start, academic prerequisites and selection rules may differ. Applicants must start with the live program page. International degree applicants usually apply through uni-assist and then go through the specific BHT or hochschulstart procedure for the level as specified for the program. International qualifications may need to follow a separate credential review pathway. Applicants for a master’s may be asked to provide module descriptions so that the responsible committee can compare previous coursework to the degree selected. Admission is not the same as enrolment: an admitted applicant still needs to complete the document, health-insurance and payment steps mentioned in the offer. After faculty, graduate-school or cooperative arrangements, doctoral study requires a suitable project and academic supervision.
No general tuition for regular consecutive study. BHT Berlin announces a total charge for the winter semester 2026/27 of €376.30, including administrative, student-services, student-body and transport contributions. Exceptions may still be made on a course basis, especially for professional, continuing education, joint, or cooperative study. Students should, therefore, budget for costs in addition to the published institutional charge for housing, insurance, learning materials, travel, and any program-specific costs. The funding can be provided through BAföG if you meet the requirements, the Deutschlandstipendium, foundations, mobility grants, project employment or doctoral support. However, every funding has its own application and selection process.
The career preparation of the university is a reflection of its academic profile and not a placement guarantee system. BHT’s applied profile is strongly aligned with Berlin’s construction, mobility, energy, software, biotech, media and public sectors. Students can improve their academic achievement through internships, practical projects, research assistantships, employer events, entrepreneurship support, international experience and early career counselling. BHT is ideal for students who seek a public university in Berlin with a technical orientation and many applied laboratories. The most qualified applicants will compare curriculum, language of instruction, entry rules and location with their academic background before submitting an application.
