10 Entrance Exams Students Can Explore Beyond JEE and NEET
JEE and NEET are not the only routes to higher education after Class 12. Students interested in science, engineering, law, design, architecture, fashion, management or general undergraduate degrees can consider other entrance exams. The right choice depends on the course and institutions a student wants to target. Check each exam’s current eligibility rules and participating institutes before applying.

| VITEEE | Engineering | BTech admission at VIT campuses through rank-based counselling |

| IPM Aptitude Test (IPMAT) | Management | The five-year Integrated Programme in Management at IIM Indore |
How to Choose the Right Exam
Begin with the degree, not the exam name. A student who wants to study law should compare CLAT with other law entrance routes; someone drawn to visual problem-solving may explore NID DAT, NIFTEE or NATA, depending on the intended course. For broad university options, CUET UG can be useful, but each university sets its own subject combinations and eligibility conditions.
Some tests are institution-specific. BITSAT, VITEEE and IPMAT lead to particular institutions or programmes, while CUET UG and COMEDK UGET connect candidates to a group of participating institutions. NATA is an aptitude test for architecture, not a general engineering entrance exam. IAT is suited to students interested in science education and research, with participating programmes varying by admission year.
Plan Applications Carefully
Make a shortlist of courses and colleges, then check the official admission pages for required Class 12 subjects, minimum marks, age rules, exam stages, fees and counselling procedures. Some design and architecture courses may include additional tests, portfolios or practical assessments. An entrance score may also require a separate application to the university or institute.
Build a calendar for registrations, exam dates, result announcements and counselling. Dates and participating institutions can change each year, so use the latest official notice rather than an old timetable. Applying to exams that match your interests and eligibility gives you more realistic choices beyond the JEE and NEET routes.
