Regensburg University of Applied Sciences is a public technical university of applied sciences in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. OTH Regensburg is a large technical university of applied sciences with more than 50 practice-oriented study programs in the areas of technology, computing, business, social sciences, health, architecture and design. Its institutional development includes 1846 — building and engineering school established an important predecessor in Regensburg. 19th century — construction and technical education expanded with regional development. Each course is a parent qualification with specialisations recorded in the course entry. It is not misrepresented as separate degrees. German, English, dual and specialisation variants are combined with their parent degrees; international qualifications are retained as separate qualifications.
Program level admission management. Application via OTH Regensburg portal and program-specific procedure. Many foreign certificates require uni-assist VPD. Selected restricted bachelor’s programs also via Hochschulstart. Applicants are advised to review the teaching language, entry semester, subject prerequisites, selection process and document route before applying. International School or University Qualifications External evaluation, certified translations, APS documentation where applicable or other proof of academic equivalence may be required. Master’s committees may require module descriptions, portfolios, writing samples, professional experience or interviews. Admission to doctoral studies is distinct from admission to bachelor’s or master’s studies and generally requires a viable research proposal, eligible supervision, and formal acceptance by the responsible faculty.
The semester fee is currently 199 euros. This covers student services and regional transit. From winter 2024/25, there will be an additional service fee of € 500 per semester for eligible non-EU students for some English-taught programs. The charges levied by the institutions exclude accommodation, health insurance, meals, study materials, residency formalities, project expenses and personal travel. If provided for by the relevant law or program regulation, special tuition may be provided for continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree, or long-term study formats. Funding (e.g. BAföG for eligible students, Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards) is available, but each funding application is evaluated separately from admission.
The career preparation is a reflection of the mix of subjects at the university and is not a guarantyd placement scheme. Practical semesters, applied research and graduate positions are supported by regional partners from the automotive, semiconductor, software, medical, construction, logistics, social-service, architecture and design industries.
