This master file provides details of the course portfolio of 27 undergraduate entries and 30 postgraduate entries. The subject combinations have been consolidated under their parent degrees where appropriate. Examples of undergraduate programs include Applied Systems Science, Biology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Chemistry, Cognitive Science, and later entries include Spanish Studies, Theology, Vocational Teacher Education. Postgraduate study is available in Applied Economics, Applied Systems Science, Biodiversity and Ecology, Biology, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Teacher Education – Primary Schools, Teacher Education – Secondary Schools and Vocational Teacher Education . The specialisations are included within the course entry, not as separate degrees. Each course is still a parent qualification. Many of the humanities and teacher-education subjects have dual-subject structures. Rather than multiplying all the possible combinations, the parent subjects and main qualification routes are consolidated.
Admission is controlled at the program level. International applicants are to apply through the university’s designated route. Many non-European qualifications are processed via uni-assist before admission and enrolment in HISinOne. - Before submitting, applicants must check the teaching language, entry semester, subject prerequisites, selection process and document path. International school or university qualifications may have to be externally assessed, translated and certified and for some countries, accompanied by APS documentation and/or further evidence of academic equivalence. Master’s committees may require module descriptions, portfolios, writing samples, professional experience or interviews. Admission to doctoral programs is independent of the admission to bachelor’s or master’s programs and usually requires a viable research proposal, eligible supervision and formal acceptance by the responsible faculty.
No general tuition for regular degree study. Semester fee for Winter 2026/27: 459.30 €. Additional costs for long-term study: 500 €. Additional costs for uni-assist: 75 € for the first application and 30 € for each additional choice. If provided for by the relevant law or program regulation, special tuition may be provided for continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree, or long-term study formats. Funding (e.g. BAföG for eligible students, Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards) is available, but each funding application is evaluated separately from admission.
Career preparation is a reflection of the subject mix of the university and not a guarantyd placement scheme. Applied contexts of study and employment include cognitive science, law, education, logistics, agriculture and food, public service, health, technology and regional industry. Students can build professional readiness through internships, applied projects, research assistantships, employer events, language development, entrepreneurship services, international mobility, and an externally partnered thesis. Osnabrück University is a good option for students keen on interdisciplinary cognitive science, a broad public university curriculum, or a close relationship between academic study and a manageable urban environment.
