ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand Summary
ARKA JAIN University is a private university in Jharkhand located at Mohanpur in Gamharia, Saraikela-Kharsawan district, near Jamshedpur. The university was established in 2017 by the Jharkhand State Legislature under the ARKA JAIN University Act and is recognized by the University Grants Commission. It is promoted and managed by ARKA Educational and Cultural Trust, a sponsoring body registered in 2009. The university describes itself as the first private university in the Kolhan region of Jharkhand. The institution's higher-education roots predate university status. Jain College began offering higher education in 2011, initially including B.Com, BBA, and BCA programs, and PGDM was added in 2014. These predecessor activities created an academic foundation that was later expanded into a multidisciplinary university. Current study spans diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across business and commerce, computer science and information technology, engineering and technology, health and allied areas, humanities, law, pharmacy, and other professional disciplines. ARKA JAIN University's academic model emphasizes industry relevance, professional skills, practical learning, entrepreneurship, research, and career preparation. Programs in regulated fields operate under applicable statutory approvals, and the university holds memberships and recognitions from national professional and higher-education bodies. The campus near the Jamshedpur industrial region provides useful proximity to manufacturing, steel, services, and a broad corporate ecosystem, supporting industry visits, internships, projects, and employment engagement. Infrastructure includes academic buildings, laboratories, libraries, sports and student-activity spaces. Since receiving university status, the institution has expanded its schools, research activity, academic governance, and professional offerings while retaining continuity with the earlier Jain College. Its development reflects a transition from a focused college model into a regionally significant multidisciplinary university serving students from Jharkhand and neighboring states. Student clubs, cultural programs, sports, competitions, and community activities complement formal study. The university also uses seminars, workshops, guest sessions, and industry interaction to strengthen practical exposure.
