PIMPRI CHINCHWAD UNIVERSITY Summary
Pimpri Chinchwad University is a private university in the Pune metropolitan region established in 2023 under Maharashtra Act No. V of 2023. It is a major initiative of Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust, an organization with more than three decades of experience in technical and professional education. The university is positioned within the Pune–Pimpri Chinchwad industrial corridor, giving its academic model a strong connection to manufacturing, technology, services and industry-oriented learning. PCET's older institutions created the educational base from which the university emerged. That legacy includes engineering, management, arts, commerce and science education, with an emphasis on professional training and links to Pune's industrial ecosystem. University status in 2023 represented a shift from operating a network of colleges to developing a multidisciplinary institution with its own schools, research agenda, curriculum design and degree-awarding authority. The university is included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act. Pimpri Chinchwad University's programme structure spans engineering, management, design, law, pharmacy, media, health sciences and allied domains. Its teaching model emphasizes experiential learning, internships, live projects, innovation and entrepreneurship. The campus occupies more than thirty acres in the Pune metropolitan area and is designed around modern academic and student facilities. The university's identity therefore combines the institutional stability of the PCET legacy with a newer research-oriented and interdisciplinary university model closely connected to one of India's largest industrial and technology regions. Established under Maharashtra Act No. V of 2023. Promoted by Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust. PCET contributes more than three decades of education experience. Located in the Pune–Pimpri Chinchwad industrial corridor. The campus extends across more than thirty acres. Design, law, pharmacy, media and health sciences broaden the academic structure. Experiential learning includes internships and live industry projects. Late 1980s onward — Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust built its higher-education network in the Pune region.
