The Ludwigsburg University of Education is a public university of education located in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg. Ludwigsburg University of Education is one of the largest universities for specialised education in Germany. It combines teacher preparation with educational science, special education, culture, media and continuing professional learning. The academy trained teachers to rebuild the school system of Baden-Württemberg. Today, its academic profile is characterised by primary and secondary teacher education, special education, vocational education, educational science, early childhood, adult education, cultural education, media and school development. Location is important, too, as Ludwigsburg is located in the Stuttgart metropolitan region, providing students with access to a variety of schools, early-childhood centers, cultural institutions, social organisations, media employers and education authorities. International School or University Qualifications External evaluation, certified translations, APS documentation where applicable or other proof of academic equivalence may be required. Master’s committees may require module descriptions, portfolios, writing samples, professional experience or interviews. Doctoral entry is independent of bachelor’s or master’s admission and generally requires a viable research proposal, suitable supervision and formal acceptance by the relevant faculty. Regular studies are generally free of tuition fees for EU/EEA students. As a rule, state law requires non-EU students to pay a tuition fee of €1,500 per semester. All students pay a current semester contribution of €198.50. Additional fees may apply in second-degree and continuing programs. The above mentioned institutional fees do not include rent, health insurance, food, learning materials, residence formalities, project costs or personal travel. If provided for by the relevant law or program regulation, special tuition may be provided for continuing-education, distance-learning, joint, second-degree, or long-term study formats. Funding (e.g. BAföG for eligible students, Deutschlandstipendium, DAAD and Erasmus+ mobility support, foundations, research employment or university-specific awards) is available, but each funding application is evaluated separately from admission. Career preparation is in line with the university’s subject mix and is not a guarantyd placement scheme. Internships, applied projects, research assistantships, employer events, language development, entrepreneurship services, international mobility and a thesis developed in cooperation with an external partner can all help to improve professional readiness.
