Master’s committees may require module descriptions, credits, professional experience, a portfolio, a statement of motivation or interview. Admission to doctoral studies is independent of enrolment in a bachelor's or master's degree program and is dependent on a suitable topic, supervision, funding and formal acceptance by the awarding university.

Career preparation is geared toward the Hessian police, municipalities, ministries, general administration, digital-government units and Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen and does not guarantee placement. Students increase their employability through police exercises, administrative cases, employer rotations, digital-service projects, social-insurance assignments, leadership workshops, research projects and practice-based theses. Alumni and professional networks can provide mentoring, sector insight and contacts, but the application and career decisions are the responsibility of each student. The school is particularly interesting for those who wish to pursue a selective public service path that combines local campus access, paid practical training, specialisation in police or administration and advanced management studies, as long as their previous education, language skills, mode of study and financing are compatible with the current program conditions.
