Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, Thane, is a government medical college where MBBS admission is based on NEET UG rank and counselling allotment. For Maharashtra state quota candidates, the 2026 ranks show how competition changed between the first and third Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds. These figures are useful for comparison, but they are not guaranteed admission ranks for another year or category.
In the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell’s Round 1 allotment, the Open-category closing All India Rank (AIR) was 10,322. By Round 3, it was 13,034. The closing rank is the last rank allotted a seat in the listed category and round; a higher AIR number means the list extended further. The change between rounds reflects that year’s allotments and vacancies, not a predictable cutoff shift.
RGMC Thane NEET UG 2026: selected state-quota ranks
| Category | Round 1 closing AIR | Round 3 closing AIR |
|---|---|---|
| Open | 10,322 | 13,034 |
| OBC | 23,209 | 26,926 |
| EWS | 33,643 | 34,348 |
| SC | 82,132 | 84,167 |
| ST | 220,765 | 226,131 |
Category rows should be read separately. Candidates must match the category and eligibility conditions shown in the official allotment list; special or reserved seat types can have different rules. These are Maharashtra state counselling figures. All India Quota seats are handled separately through the Medical Counselling Committee, so applicants should not compare an MCC rank directly with a Maharashtra CAP rank.
How to use the cutoff when planning choices
- Open the Maharashtra CET Cell’s NEET UG 2026 counselling portal.
- Download the final selection list for the relevant CAP round.
- Find the college’s full name and confirm the course is MBBS.
- Check the allotment category and seat type before comparing AIRs.
- Use the closing rank as a historical reference, then fill choices according to your actual preferences and current eligibility.
Do not rely only on expected marks-to-rank estimates or a cutoff summary from another round. The seat matrix, candidate choices, category and availability can all affect the final allotment. Check the official list and notices before making decisions or paying fees.

- October 12, 2026: The State CET Cell issued Notice No. 23 after completing three CAP rounds, scheduling online stray vacancy rounds for MBBS and BDS.

- October 21 and 24, 2026: Selection lists for Stray Vacancy Rounds 2 and 3 are scheduled, subject to official updates.
The stray rounds are not open to everyone: the State CET Cell’s notice sets eligibility restrictions, including for candidates already holding certain state or All India Quota seats. Allotment in a stray round also requires joining within the stated deadline. Candidates should read Notice No. 23 in full and verify the latest schedule on the State CET Cell portal before filling choices.
