Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) remains among Karnataka’s most competitive government medical colleges. For NEET UG 2026, the closing rank depends on the counselling authority, seat quota, candidate category and round. A single “Bangalore Medical College cutoff” number can therefore give an incomplete picture.
In the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) state counselling, the General Merit closing rank for a government MBBS seat at BMCRI was 2,655 in Round 1. By Round 3, the highest General Merit rank in the final allotment list was 4,060. These are NEET All India Ranks, not marks. They show how far allotments extended in those rounds, but they do not guarantee that a candidate at the same rank will receive a seat in another category or year.
BMCRI 2026 cutoff: KEA General Merit trend
| Counselling round | General Merit closing rank | What it indicates |
|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | 2,655 | Last General Merit rank allotted a government seat in the Round 1 list |
| Round 3 | 4,060 | Highest General Merit rank in the Round 3 final allotment list |
KEA category cutoffs differ. In Round 1, reported closing ranks included 8,463 for 2A, 5,499 for 3B and 22,730 for ST government seats. Candidates should compare the row matching their own category and seat type in the official allotment list. These figures should not be applied to rural, Kannada-medium, Hyderabad-Karnataka or other special-category seats, which have separate rules and allotment rows.
KEA and MCC cutoffs are different
KEA conducts Karnataka state counselling, while the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) handles the All India Quota seats. BMCRI applicants should check the list for the quota through which they applied. A rank from an MCC allotment list cannot be treated as the KEA state-quota cutoff, and vice versa. The relevant seat matrix and allotment result also matter because the number and type of available seats can change between rounds.
How to check your relevant cutoff
- Open the KEA UGNEET 2026 section for state counselling, or MCC’s UG counselling page for All India Quota.
- Download the final allotment list for the round you want to review.
- Find Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute and confirm the course and seat type.
- Match the category shown in the list to your own counselling category.
- Compare the NEET All India Rank in the last relevant allotted row. Treat it as a past-round reference, not an admission promise.
2026 counselling timeline and what comes next
- August 28, 2026: KEA’s Round 1 final medical and dental allotment result was released.
- October 6, 2026: KEA published the Round 3 final allotment lists.
- October 16–19, 2026: Option entry for Karnataka’s stray vacancy round is scheduled, according to the published counselling update.
As of October 15, the stray vacancy round has not yet taken place, so the final 2026 closing rank may change if a BMCRI seat remains available. Candidates making decisions should follow the latest KEA and MCC notices, check seat availability and eligibility, and avoid relying only on expected cutoff estimates or marks-to-rank predictions.
