IIIT Hyderabad BTech Cutoff 2026 Through JEE Main: Previous-Year Trends
IIIT Hyderabad uses its own admission process for BTech applicants applying with JEE Main scores. It does not allot these seats through JoSAA or CSAB counselling. Candidates apply through the institute’s College Admissions portal, where selection is based on their JEE Main percentile and programme preferences.
The institute’s published College Admissions FAQ currently lists overall opening and closing JEE Main percentiles through 2025. It does not provide a comparable 2026 cutoff table there. The figures below are therefore historical context, not a confirmed 2026 cutoff or a guaranteed admission threshold.
IIIT Hyderabad JEE Main cutoff trend
| Admission year | Opening percentile | Closing percentile |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | 99.9956135 | 99.7382124 |
| 2022 | 99.9874073 | 98.7139663 |
| 2023 | 99.9986814 | 99.2804152 |
| 2024 | 99.9107211 | 99.5651650 |
| 2025 | 99.9407517 | 99.553159 |
These are the overall opening and closing values published by IIIT Hyderabad; they are not JoSAA-style category-wise closing ranks or separate CSE and ECE cutoffs. The institute says JEE Main marks are used for its regular admission process and that seats are merit based. Applicants should not convert the percentiles in this table into a predicted rank without checking the relevant year’s official results.
How the JEE Main admission process works
For the 2026 admission cycle, the institute’s JEE mode covered its four-year BTech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Applicants had to report their JEE Main percentile, application number and scorecard in the IIIT Hyderabad application portal. The institute also specified a minimum 60% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Class 12 or an equivalent qualifying examination.
When a candidate has appeared in both JEE Main sessions, the institute considers the better total percentile reported by NTA. If applicants tie on total percentile, the institute uses Mathematics percentile first, followed by Physics and then Chemistry, as described on its admission page. Seat offers are made in multiple institute-run rounds. Candidates must follow each round’s acceptance instructions and deadlines; an offer is not secured simply by submitting an application.
How to use the cutoff information
- Use the trend table to understand the high level of competition, not as a promise of admission.
- Check the current admission page for eligible programmes, requirements, seat rounds and deadlines.
- Apply through IIIT Hyderabad’s own portal; do not wait for a JoSAA allotment for this admission route.
- Read each seat offer carefully and complete acceptance steps by the stated deadline.
Cutoffs can change with applicant scores, preferences and seat availability. Check the institute’s official admission page for the latest 2026 information and future-cycle updates.
