Karnavati University is a state private university at Uvarsad near Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It was established in 2017 under the Gujarat Private Universities framework by the Karnavati Medical and Educational Trust, with the UGC recording 31 March 2017 as its establishment or gazette-notification date. The university operates from a 33-acre campus and has developed a multidisciplinary profile covering design, management, law, liberal arts and communication, technology, behavioural sciences, dentistry and research. One important strand of the university's academic identity predates university status. Unitedworld Institute of Design was established in 2012 and later became part of the Karnavati University ecosystem. Today, the institution includes specialized constituent schools such as Unitedworld Institute of Design, Unitedworld Institute of Management, Unitedworld School of Law, Unitedworld Institute of Technology, Karnavati School of Dentistry and Karnavati School of Research. This structure supports undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education with a strong emphasis on professional practice and interdisciplinary learning. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission and has built external academic memberships, including membership of the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Its development since 2017 has included formal statutes, boards of studies, research structures and continued expansion of academic schools. Karnavati University's institutional character is therefore shaped by the combination of a pre-university design-education legacy, a statutory private-university framework and a campus model that brings creative, professional, health and technology disciplines together. The motto 'Shikshanat Siddhi' expresses the university's idea of moving from education to achievement. The Uvarsad campus combines specialized professional schools within one multidisciplinary university environment. Promoted by the Karnavati Medical and Educational Trust, a non-profit sponsoring body. Unitedworld Institute of Design, established in 2012, forms part of the university's design-education foundation. The university became a member of the Association of Indian Universities in 2019.
