What Has Been Revised?
The Rajasthan counselling authority has updated the Round 1 timeline after changes in the wider NEET UG counselling schedule. The revised dates provide additional time for completion of the application process, category verification, choice submission and seat allotment-related activities.
The most important changes for students are the extension of Part 2 application submission up to August 21, publication of the revised merit list on August 22, continuation of choice filling up to August 25 and postponement of the Round 1 allotment result to August 29.
The revised state schedule is also aligned with the updated national counselling timeline issued for NEET UG 2026. However, Rajasthan state counselling and Medical Counselling Committee counselling are separate processes. Candidates must follow the schedule of the counselling authority through which they are applying.
Who Is Affected by the Revised Schedule?
The revised schedule affects candidates who have registered for Rajasthan NEET UG state counselling for admission to MBBS or BDS courses and are eligible to participate in Round 1 choice filling and seat allotment.
It is particularly relevant to candidates who:
- Completed the Rajasthan NEET UG counselling application process.
- Are included in the revised provisional merit list.
- Need to submit or modify college and course preferences.
- Are required to deposit the security amount before choice filling.
- Claim BD, Defence, Para-Military or NRI status.
- May receive an MBBS or BDS seat through Round 1 allotment.
Being included in the merit list does not guarantee admission. A seat is allotted according to merit, eligibility, category, seat availability and the choices submitted by the candidate.
Defence, Para-Military and NRI Candidate Verification
Registered candidates claiming Defence, Para-Military or NRI candidature are required to follow the category-verification instructions issued by the Board. The verification is scheduled at the Academic Block of SMS Medical College, Jaipur, on August 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Candidates who have already completed the required verification do not need to appear again. Candidates who have not completed verification should carry the original certificates and supporting documents specified for their category. Failure to complete mandatory verification may affect consideration under the claimed category.
BD candidates should also follow any separate medical assessment or verification instructions issued by the competent authority. Candidates should rely on their individual notice, category list and the latest instructions displayed on the counselling portal.
How Choice Filling Works in Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling
Choice filling is the stage at which candidates list their preferred colleges and courses. Candidates may generally select eligible MBBS and BDS options in the order in which they would prefer to receive them.
