The fastest method is:

Open PDF → Ctrl + F → Enter Roll Number

If the roll number appears in the shortlisted-candidate list, the candidate has qualified for the next stage according to the result notice.

Candidates should check the number carefully before assuming selection.

APSC CCE Merit List 2026

Candidates frequently search for an “APSC CCE merit list,” but the preliminary result is more accurately a list of roll numbers shortlisted for Mains.

It should not be confused with the final merit list.

The stages are:

Prelims Result → Mains Result → Interview → Final Merit List

Only after completion of the entire recruitment process does APSC prepare the final selection outcome.

Is APSC Prelims Result the Final Merit List?

No.

Clearing Prelims only qualifies a candidate for the Main Examination.

It does not mean the candidate has been selected for an Assam Civil Service post.

Final recruitment involves multiple stages.

APSC CCE Selection Process 2026

The APSC Combined Competitive Examination broadly consists of:

Preliminary Examination

→ Main Examination

→ Interview / Personality Test

→ Final Result

Candidates must clear each applicable stage.

What Happens After APSC CCE Prelims Result?

Candidates who qualify should prepare for the Main Examination.

The next process may include:

• Mains application/details

• Examination schedule

• Admit card

• Written papers

• Result

• Interview

• Document verification

• Final merit list

Candidates should monitor APSC notices continuously.

APSC CCE Mains 2026

The Main Examination is considerably different from Prelims.

Prelims is primarily an objective screening test.

Mains requires deeper subject knowledge, structured writing, analysis and time management.

Candidates should shift preparation immediately from:

MCQ Elimination

to

Descriptive Answer Writing

When Will APSC CCE Mains 2026 Be Held?

The Commission will announce the detailed Main Examination schedule separately.

Candidates should not rely on unofficial dates until APSC publishes the official examination programme.

Once the dates are announced, this article should be updated with:

• Mains dates

• Paper timings

• Admit-card date

• Exam centres

APSC CCE Mains Application 2026

Qualified candidates should check whether the Commission requires any separate submission or confirmation for the Main Examination.

Where required, candidates should complete the process within the prescribed deadline.

Missing a Mains-related formality after qualifying Prelims can affect candidature.

APSC CCE Prelims Cut-Off 2026

The preliminary cut-off is one of the most searched topics after result declaration.

Candidates should remember that cut-offs can differ by category.

Possible categories include:

• Open/General

• OBC/MOBC

• SC

• ST(P)

• ST(H)

• EWS

• PwBD

• Other applicable categories

The official category-wise cut-off should be used once APSC publishes it.

Is APSC CCE Prelims Cut-Off Released?

The result PDF and the cut-off notice may not necessarily be released at the same time.

Candidates should check whether APSC separately publishes:

Category-Wise Cut-Off Marks

If not yet available, do not treat coaching estimates as official.

APSC CCE Expected Cut-Off 2026

Expected cut-offs can help candidates analyse the exam but should be labelled clearly as estimates.

Actual cut-offs depend on:

• Number of candidates

• Number of vacancies

• Paper difficulty

• Candidate performance

• Category

• Shortlisting ratio

Only APSC can publish the official cut-off.

APSC CCE Prelims Exam Date 2026

The Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination was conducted on:

July 5, 2026

The exam was held under Advertisement No. 01/2026.

Candidates should note that the recruitment is officially referred to as:

Combined Competitive Examination, 2025

even though major examination stages are being conducted in 2026.

Why Is It Called APSC CCE 2025 If Exam Was Held in 2026?

This can confuse candidates.

The recruitment cycle is named according to the official advertisement/examination cycle:

Combined Competitive Examination, 2025

However:

• Advertisement was processed in 2026

• Prelims was held July 5, 2026

• Result and further stages occur in 2026

This is why candidates may search both:

APSC CCE 2025 Result

and

APSC CCE Result 2026

Both can refer to the same recruitment cycle.

APSC CCE Answer Key 2026

APSC released provisional answer keys after the Preliminary Examination.

The keys covered:

• General Studies Paper I

• General Studies Paper II / CSAT

Candidates were allowed to raise objections within the prescribed deadline.

APSC CCE Answer Key Objection

Candidates who identified an incorrect provisional answer could submit objections through the official mechanism.

The Commission reviews valid objections before completing result processing.

Candidates should calculate final expected marks only with the final/accepted evaluation framework rather than relying solely on the provisional key.

APSC CCE Prelims Exam Pattern

The preliminary examination consists of two papers:

General Studies Paper I

Tests broad General Studies knowledge.

General Studies Paper II

Acts as the second preliminary paper under the applicable CCE examination scheme.

Candidates should consult the official syllabus for the exact qualifying and evaluation rules.

APSC Prelims Negative Marking

The preliminary examination follows negative-marking provisions according to the applicable examination rules.

Candidates estimating scores should account for negative marks rather than simply counting correct answers.

How to Calculate APSC Prelims Score

Candidates should use:

Correct Answers × Marks Awarded

minus

Incorrect Answers × Applicable Negative Marking

The final official result takes precedence over self-calculated scores.

Why My Calculated Score Did Not Clear the Cut-Off

Several reasons are possible:

• Wrong answer-key series

• Provisional key changed

• Calculation mistake

• Negative marking

• Category cut-off

• Final answer-key revision

Candidates should compare their estimate only after checking the official evaluation documents.

How Many Candidates Appeared for APSC CCE Prelims?

Before Prelims, APSC published a list of 41,695 candidates who had successfully submitted applications and paid the applicable fee and were eligible to appear.

This June list should not be confused with the actual Preliminary Examination result.

APSC June 8 List vs Prelims Result

This distinction is extremely important.

June 8, 2026 List

Contained applicants eligible to appear in the Preliminary Examination.

Prelims Result

Contains candidates who actually qualified for the Main Examination after taking Prelims.

Therefore:

June Candidate List ≠ Prelims Merit List

What If My Roll Number Is Not in the Result PDF?

If your roll number does not appear in the shortlisted list, you have not qualified for Mains under the current result.

Before concluding this:

• Check the correct result PDF.

• Verify your roll number.

• Search without spaces.

• Check the advertisement/exam name.

Do not pay agents claiming they can add your roll number.

Can APSC Prelims Result Be Rechecked?

Candidates should check the Commission's official rules regarding post-result grievances.

Competitive examination results do not necessarily provide the same re-evaluation mechanism as school/university examinations.

The answer-key objection stage is an important part of the evaluation process.

Can APSC Result Be Revised?

A result can change only if the Assam Public Service Commission officially issues:

• Corrigendum

• Revised result

• Additional qualified list

• Court-compliance notice

Candidates should not rely on unofficial revised PDFs.

APSC CCE Mains Syllabus 2026

Qualified candidates should immediately revisit the official Mains syllabus.

Preparation should broadly focus on:

• Essay

• General Studies

• Assam-specific issues

• Indian polity

• Economy

• History

• Geography

• Governance

• Environment

• Science and technology

• Current affairs

• Ethics/administration-related areas according to the prescribed scheme

Candidates should follow the official current syllabus rather than old coaching notes.

Assam-Specific Preparation for APSC Mains

APSC differs from UPSC because Assam-focused issues are especially important.

Candidates should prepare topics such as:

• Assam history

• Geography

• Economy

• Society

• Culture

• Governance

• Floods and erosion

• Biodiversity

• Tea industry

• Agriculture

• Border issues

• Infrastructure

• Government schemes

• Current affairs of Assam

APSC Mains Answer-Writing Strategy

Candidates should start writing answers daily.

A useful structure is:

Introduction → Core Analysis → Assam Context → Examples/Data → Conclusion

Answers should be:

• Relevant

• Structured

• Concise

• Analytical

• Legible

Avoid writing everything you know when the question asks something specific.

How Many Answers Should I Practice Daily?

A practical starting target is:

• 3–5 short answers

• 1 longer analytical answer

• Essay practice periodically

Candidates can gradually increase volume as the exam approaches.

Quality matters more than random quantity.

APSC CCE Current Affairs Preparation

Candidates should focus on:

Assam Current Affairs

State policies, economy, infrastructure, environment and social issues.

National Current Affairs

Government policy, economy, judiciary, governance and major events.

International Affairs

Issues relevant to India and the Northeast.

Do not spend the entire Mains preparation period collecting current-affairs material without writing answers.

APSC CCE Mains Admit Card 2026

The Main Examination admit card will be released before the written exam.

Once available, candidates should verify:

• Name

• Roll number

• Exam centre

• Paper schedule

• Reporting time

• Instructions

Download multiple copies.

APSC CCE Mains Result 2026

After the Main Examination, APSC will shortlist candidates for the next applicable stage.

The Mains result is expected to be another roll-number-based shortlisted-candidate notice.

Candidates clearing Mains move toward the interview/personality test.

APSC CCE Interview 2026

The interview assesses a candidate's suitability for administrative responsibilities.

Areas may include:

• Assam issues

• Current affairs

• Candidate background

• Governance

• Situational judgment

• Communication

• Administrative awareness

Candidates should not treat an interview as a trivia quiz.

APSC Final Merit List 2026

The final merit list is prepared only after completion of the prescribed competitive stages.

This is the list that matters for final service allocation/selection.

Prelims marks should therefore not be confused with final merit.

Posts Through APSC CCE

The Combined Competitive Examination can recruit candidates to various Assam government services depending on notified vacancies.

These can include services/posts such as:

• Assam Civil Service

• Assam Police Service

• Finance-related services

• Taxation-related posts

• Labour-related services

• Administrative posts

• Other allied services

The exact post list should be checked from the 2025/2026 recruitment notification.

APSC CCE Vacancy 2026

Vacancy details can affect competition and cut-offs.

Candidates should use the official recruitment notification and any subsequent corrigendum for the final vacancy count.

Do not use previous-year vacancy numbers as the current figure.

APSC CCE Salary

Salary differs according to the service/post allotted.

Selected candidates can receive:

• Basic pay

• Grade/pay-level benefits

• Dearness allowance

• House rent allowance

• Other applicable allowances

The exact pay structure should be checked post-wise.

Is APSC CCE Similar to UPSC?

There is substantial syllabus overlap, but the exams are not identical.

UPSC preparation can help, but candidates need dedicated Assam-specific study.

Can UPSC Aspirants Clear APSC?

Yes, UPSC preparation provides a useful foundation.

But candidates still need focused preparation for:

• Assam history

• Assam geography

• Assam economy

• State schemes

• Assam governance

• Regional current affairs

Ignoring the state component can significantly weaken performance.

What Documents Should Qualified Candidates Keep Ready?

Candidates should preserve:

• Prelims admit card

• Result PDF

• Application form

• Graduation certificate

• Academic marksheets

• Category certificate

• EWS certificate

• PwBD certificate

• Identity proof

• Age proof

• Other documents claimed in the application

Detailed document requirements will depend on subsequent APSC instructions.

What If My Category Certificate Is Expired?

Candidates claiming reservation should ensure their certificate satisfies the rules specified by APSC.

If an updated certificate is required, obtain it before the document-verification stage.

Do not wait until the interview stage to identify document problems.

APSC Result Website Not Opening

Heavy traffic can slow the APSC website after result declaration.

Try:

1. Refreshing after a few minutes.

2. Opening the PDF directly.

3. Using another browser.

4. Clearing browser cache.

5. Switching internet connection.

6. Checking again during lower traffic.

Use only apsc.nic.in for official result documents.

Result PDF Not Downloading

Try:

• Right-click and download

• Desktop mode

• Another PDF viewer

• Another browser

• Stable internet connection

Do not download modified result PDFs from unknown Telegram or WhatsApp channels.

What Should Qualified Candidates Do Today?

Candidates shortlisted for Mains should:

1. Download the result PDF.

3. Monitor the Mains schedule.

4. Download the official syllabus.

5. Begin answer writing.

6. Prepare Assam-specific notes.

7. Organise documents.

Candidates who did not clear Prelims should:

• Wait for official cut-off information.

• Analyse the answer key.

• Identify weak areas.

• Review attempt strategy.

• Improve CSAT/GS balance where needed.

• Preserve notes for the next examination.

One result should be used as diagnostic feedback for the next attempt.
