Details Mentioned in UP NEET Merit List 2026
Depending on the format released by the counselling authority, candidates should check information such as:
- Candidate name
- NEET roll number
- NEET All India Rank
- UP state merit information
- Category
- Candidate status
- Other counselling-related details
Candidates should verify the information carefully before proceeding with choice filling.
UP NEET State Merit Rank 2026
Candidates should understand the difference between their NEET All India Rank and Uttar Pradesh counselling merit position.
NEET AIR = National merit position
UP NEET Merit = Merit position used for the applicable Uttar Pradesh counselling process
Candidates should check which type of rank is being quoted when comparing previous medical college cutoffs.
NEET AIR vs UP NEET State Merit
| NEET AIR | UP NEET Merit |
|---|---|
| National rank | State counselling merit |
| Based on NEET UG performance | Prepared for eligible UP counselling candidates |
| National candidate pool | State counselling candidate pool |
| Used for applicable national admission analysis | Used for UP counselling |
| Different from state merit | Relevant for applicable state seats |
Using the wrong rank type can produce an inaccurate admission prediction.
What After UP NEET Merit List 2026?
Candidates included in the merit list should immediately check the next counselling activities.
The process broadly proceeds as:
Merit List → Seat Matrix → Choice Filling → Choice Locking → Seat Allotment → Allotment Letter → College Reporting
Candidates should check the exact dates announced for Round 1 and should not wait until the final hours to submit their preferences.
UP NEET Choice Filling 2026
Choice filling is one of the most important stages of Round 1 counselling.
Candidates should review:
- UP merit position
- NEET AIR
- Category
- Government/private preference
- MBBS/BDS preference
- College location
- Fee structure
- Previous closing ranks
- Current seat matrix
Candidates should then arrange colleges in their genuine order of preference.
UP NEET Choice Locking 2026
After entering their choices, candidates should complete the applicable choice-locking process within the prescribed period.
Before locking, candidates should check:
College Name + Course + Preference Number + College Type
Once the applicable deadline passes, editing options can become restricted according to the counselling rules.
Candidates should save a copy of their submitted choices.
UP NEET Seat Matrix 2026
Candidates should review the Round 1 seat matrix before finalising their choices.
The matrix can contain information about:
- Government medical colleges
- Private medical colleges
- Government dental colleges
- Private dental colleges
- College-wise MBBS seats
- College-wise BDS seats
- Category/seat distribution
- Applicable seat types
The seat matrix helps candidates determine how many seats are actually available during the round.
UP NEET Round 1 Seat Allotment 2026
After choice filling and locking, the counselling authority will process the Round 1 seat allotment.
Seat allotment broadly depends on:
Candidate Merit + Category + Eligibility + Choice Order + Seat Availability
Candidates receiving a seat should download the applicable allotment document and complete admission formalities within the prescribed period.
Merit List vs Seat Allotment Result
Candidates should not confuse these two documents.
| Merit List | Seat Allotment |
|---|---|
| Shows merit position | Shows allotted college/course |
| Released before allotment | Released after choices are processed |
| Does not guarantee a seat | Provides seat offer where allotted |
| Used for counselling eligibility/merit | Used for admission |
| Followed by choice filling | Followed by reporting |
Therefore:
Name in Merit List ≠ MBBS Admission Confirmed
UP NEET Government Medical College Admission 2026
Government MBBS seats in Uttar Pradesh remain highly competitive.
Candidates should analyse their chances using:
NEET Rank + UP Merit + Category + Previous Cutoff + Current Seat Matrix
Candidates targeting government colleges should consider a broad range of institutions rather than depending on only one or two choices.
UP NEET Private Medical College Admission 2026
Candidates considering private medical colleges should examine:
- Tuition fees
- Other applicable charges
- Location
- Seat availability
- Previous closing ranks
- College preference
- Admission rules
Candidates should check the official fee information before locking a private medical college choice.
UP NEET MBBS Cutoff 2026
The UP NEET cutoff will differ by:
- College
- Category
- Seat type
- Counselling round
- Candidate preferences
- Available seats
There is therefore no single cutoff applicable to all Uttar Pradesh medical colleges.
A useful cutoff comparison should be:
College + Category + Seat Type + Counselling Round + Closing Rank
UP NEET BDS Cutoff 2026
BDS admission cutoffs can differ substantially from MBBS closing ranks.
Candidates willing to pursue either course should arrange preferences according to their actual priorities.
For example:
Preferred MBBS Colleges → Other Acceptable MBBS Colleges → Preferred BDS Colleges
This is only an example; candidates should choose their own order.
UP NEET Round 1 Cutoff 2026
The Round 1 closing ranks will become clearer after seat allotment.
Candidates can then compare:
Own Rank vs Round 1 Closing Rank
Those close to the closing rank of a preferred institution can continue monitoring subsequent counselling rounds.
However, later-round cutoff movement is never guaranteed.
UP NEET Round 2 Counselling 2026
Candidates remaining eligible after Round 1 can have opportunities in Round 2 according to the applicable counselling rules.
Vacancies can arise due to:
- Non-reporting
- Candidate movement
- Upgradation
- Vacant seats
- Revised seat availability
Candidates should check whether fresh choices or other actions are required for Round 2.
UP NEET Round 3 Counselling 2026
Further admission opportunities can be available during Round 3.
Candidates should remember:
Later Round ≠ Automatically Lower Cutoff
Popular government medical colleges can have few or no seats available in later rounds.
UP NEET Stray Vacancy Round 2026
If seats remain after the regular rounds, the counselling process can proceed to a stray vacancy round according to the applicable rules.
Candidates should carefully check:
- Eligibility
- Registration requirements
- Seat matrix
- Participation conditions
- Reporting requirements
The rules can differ from earlier rounds.
UP NEET Counselling 2026 Documents
Candidates should keep applicable documents ready, including:
