OTET 2026 Exam Date
BSE Odisha conducted the OTET 2026 examination on July 5, 2026.
The examination is intended for eligible candidates seeking teacher eligibility for Classes I to VIII in Odisha.
Under BSE Odisha's official OTET 2026 eligibility guidelines, OTET applies to appropriately qualified candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in state government, private aided and private unaided schools in Odisha, subject to the applicable recruitment rules.
OTET 2026 Answer Key
Before declaring the result, BSE Odisha released the OTET answer keys and provided candidates with an online facility to challenge them.
The official BSE Odisha portal lists:
OTET-2026 Answer Keys
and
OTET-2026 Answer Key Challenge Online Application
dated July 23, 2026.
Current result reporting notes that the objection process was completed before declaration of the result.
OTET Paper I and Paper II
OTET is structured around two papers corresponding to different teaching levels.
Paper I is relevant to candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes I to V.
Paper II is relevant to candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes VI to VIII.
Candidates who appeared for the applicable paper should check the marks and qualifying status displayed on their scorecard.
OTET 2026 Qualifying Marks
Candidates should use the qualifying standard applicable to their category and the current OTET rules when interpreting their result.
The important point is that the scorecard itself displays the candidate's qualifying status.
Candidates should therefore avoid relying on unofficial cutoff predictions when the official result already specifies whether they have qualified.
Is OTET Cutoff 2026 the Same as a Recruitment Cutoff?
No.
This distinction is important.
OTET is an eligibility examination.
Qualifying OTET establishes teacher eligibility under the applicable rules. It does not automatically give the candidate a teaching post.
A later teacher recruitment exercise may have its own:
eligibility conditions,
vacancies,
reservation rules,
selection procedure,
merit criteria,
document-verification process,
and recruitment cutoff.
Therefore:
OTET qualifying marks ≠ teacher recruitment closing cutoff.
What Does Qualifying OTET Mean?
BSE Odisha's official 2026 guidelines state that OTET applies to candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in schools covered by the applicable Odisha rules.
A candidate who qualifies can use the eligibility in accordance with applicable teacher recruitment requirements.
The official guidelines also specifically state that candidates who have already qualified in OTET may apply again for improvement.
OTET Eligibility: Category A
The official OTET 2026 guidelines prescribe multiple qualification routes.
For Category A, one recognized route is:
Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks plus a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Other recognized routes include applicable NCTE-compliant D.El.Ed., B.El.Ed. and Special Education qualifications, subject to the detailed conditions in the official notification.
Candidates should check the official eligibility document rather than relying on abbreviated qualification summaries when applying for recruitment.
What to Do After OTET Result 2026
Candidates who have qualified should first download and preserve the scorecard.
The immediate sequence should be:
Download OTET Scorecard
↓
Verify Marks and Qualifying Status
↓
Preserve Result/Certificate Records
↓
Track Odisha Teacher Recruitment Notifications
↓

↓

OTET qualification by itself should not be interpreted as an appointment order.
