Is the Result for All Semesters?

The official University of Madras notice currently identifies this release as the April 2026 final-semester revaluation result for UG, PG and Professional Degree programs.

Students should therefore not assume that every semester is covered by this particular announcement unless their course/result page specifically confirms it.

This is important because some third-party headlines use broader wording such as “all semesters,” while the university's official announcement is more specific.

What Is Revaluation?

Revaluation allows eligible students to have their examination answer scripts reassessed according to university rules.

The broad process is:

Regular Examination

↓

Regular Result

↓

Revaluation Application

↓

Answer Script Reassessment

↓

Revaluation Result

↓

Updated Marks, if applicable

A revaluation application does not guarantee that marks will increase.

What If Marks Change After Revaluation?

If revised marks are awarded, students should check whether the change has been reflected in their academic record.

A change can affect:

Final semester marks

Overall result

Degree completion status

Higher education applications

Employment documentation

Provisional certificate requirements

Final marksheet

Students should retain the online result and follow university or college instructions for updated official records.

What If Marks Do Not Change?

Revaluation can also result in no change to the original marks.

Students should not assume the portal has malfunctioned simply because their score remains the same.

The final outcome depends on the reassessment carried out according to university regulations.

Difference Between Regular Result and Revaluation Result

Students who never applied for revaluation should continue referring to their regular result rather than this revaluation list.

What Students Should Check on the Result

After opening the result, candidates should verify:

Name

Register Number

Course

Semester

Subject details

Original/revised marks where displayed

Result status

Other examination remarks

Any discrepancy should be brought to the attention of the university or affiliated college through the prescribed procedure.
