The National Testing Agency (NTA) has stated that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate 2026 examination was conducted under “full security protocol” amid reports of alleged irregularities linked to a probe by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG).
The NEET-UG 2026 exam was held on May 3, 2026.
Security Measures Used During NEET-UG 2026
According to the NTA, several layers of monitoring and verification were implemented during the examination process, including:
- GPS-tracked vehicles carrying question papers
- Unique watermark identifiers on exam papers
- AI-assisted CCTV surveillance at examination centres
- Central control room monitoring
- Biometric verification of candidates
- Deployment of 5G jammers during the exam
The agency clarified that the examination “proceeded as planned across all centres.”
Probe Into Alleged Irregularities
The statement comes after reports of suspected malpractice connected to the Rajasthan SOG investigation.
NTA said it received information regarding alleged malpractice activity on the evening of May 7, four days after the exam. The agency stated that these inputs were forwarded to central investigating agencies on May 8 for verification and necessary action.
The testing agency also acknowledged the role of law enforcement authorities, describing the recent detentions and actions as the result of “professional and timely work.”
NTA’s Response
The agency said it is cooperating fully with investigators by providing:
- Examination-related data
- Technical assistance
- Required records for inquiry
NTA added that it would not speculate on the outcome of the investigation and that any further action would be taken transparently according to official procedures.
Message For Students And Parents
Addressing concerns among candidates and families, NTA said the integrity of the vast majority of genuine aspirants “is not in question and will not be devalued.”
The agency also mentioned that any future steps, if needed, would be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education.
