Not one alumni in that frame of mind from this clinical school in Pathankot
General wards safely guarded, bed inhabitance of 13% instead of the base commanded 60%, no blood donation center, zero medical procedures and zero conveyances. This is White Medical College, a private medical school with 150 students in the Punjabi city of Pathankot. Since it opened in 2011, the school has struggled with a lack of patients and faculty members as well as a lack of infrastructure. In fact, in its 13 years of existence, the college, formerly known as Chintpurni Medical College, has not produced any graduates.
The country's apex medical education regulator, the National Medical Commission (NMC), requested that all students be relocated earlier this year in accordance with the directions of the Punjab & Haryana High Court. Given their subpar infrastructure and performance on a variety of criteria, the college is one of only two in the nation—the other is G R Medical College in Karnataka—that have been ordered by courts to move entire batches of MBBS students. All of the students at the Karnataka college have been transferred to other colleges in the state while the Chintpurni college challenges the court's order in the High Court.
