MH CET Law 2026 Institutional Round Merit List: 5-Year LLB List Due Today, 3-Year LLB on October 1
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell is moving into the institutional-level admission stage for MH CET Law 2026, with the merit list for the 5-year LLB institutional round scheduled for September 30 and the 3-year LLB merit list due on October 1. The final admission round is being conducted to fill vacant seats remaining after completion of the regular Centralised Admission Process rounds.
Candidates who registered for the institutional round and submitted college preferences will be able to check their college-wise merit position through the respective MH CET Law CAP portal. Unlike the earlier CAP rounds, final seat admission during the institutional round will be handled directly by participating law colleges according to the applicable merit and vacancy rules.

How the Institutional Round Is Different from Regular CAP
The institutional round is designed to fill law seats that remain vacant after the normal CAP allotment process. The CET Cell facilitates registration and generation of college-wise merit information, but individual participating colleges conduct admission against their remaining institutional or ACAP vacancies.
Colleges are expected to prepare merit lists through the CAP system by considering candidate merit, candidature type, applicable category and available seats. The lists may be displayed on college websites, notice boards and through the admission portal.
Admission Schedule After Merit List
| Programme | Admission Window |
|---|---|
| 5-Year Integrated LLB | October 1 to October 4, 2026 |
| 3-Year LLB | October 3 to October 6, 2026 |
Candidates included in the merit list will need to approach the concerned college within the applicable admission window. Colleges will verify original documents and eligibility before confirming admission through the CAP portal.
What Candidates Should Keep Ready
- MH CET Law scorecard and application details.
- Class 10 and Class 12 certificates where applicable.
- Graduation documents for 3-year LLB admission.
- Category and caste-related certificates where applicable.
- Domicile and candidature documents.
- Valid photo identification.
- Original documents required by the allotted or preferred institution.
Why the Institutional Round Matters
The institutional round represents the final major opportunity in the 2026-27 MH CET Law counselling cycle for candidates who did not secure a preferred seat during earlier CAP rounds. Vacancies can arise when previously allotted candidates do not report, cancel admission or shift to another institution.
Candidates should therefore check individual college merit lists and vacancies carefully rather than assuming that registration itself guarantees admission. Final admission will depend on merit position, eligibility, seat availability and timely reporting to the participating law college.
