Liberty University Opens 2027-28 Resident Assistant Applications; Deadline October 12

Liberty University has opened applications for Resident Assistant positions for the 2027-28 academic year. Current Liberty students interested in residential leadership can submit applications through the university's Residence Life process from September 29 through October 12, 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be currently enrolled Liberty University students in good academic and conduct standing. The university requires a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.

Because Liberty is a Christian institution, its RA criteria also require applicants to meet the university's stated faith, conduct and doctrinal expectations.

Availability Requirements

RAs must be available for residence-life responsibilities and key blackout periods such as August training, orientation activities, Residence Life events and graduation.

Some academic commitments can make students ineligible or require additional evaluation. Liberty specifically identifies student teaching, certain Nursing stages and senior Social Work internships among conflicts for the 2027-28 cycle.

What Benefits Do RAs Receive?

Liberty says selected Resident Assistants receive an RA scholarship covering their full room-and-board expenses as well as a portion of tuition.

RAs also receive leadership development, training, mentoring from Resident Directors and practical experience building community within residence halls.

How Selection Works

After the October 12 deadline, Residence Life will review applications and announce its first round of cuts on December 7. Remaining candidates will move into RA Experience Week in January, followed by final selections on February 5.

Successful applicants will sign contracts on February 8, with Fall 2027 residence-hall placements scheduled to be announced February 26.
