FMGE Fake Certificate Racket Busted: 3 Arrested, 16 Foreign Medical Graduates Under Scanner

FMGE Fake Certificate Racket 2026: Maharashtra Cyber Police have busted an alleged interstate network accused of supplying fake Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) scorecards, certificates and other forged medical-registration documents to foreign-trained medical graduates who had failed the mandatory screening examination.

Three people have been arrested so far, including two foreign medical graduates and an alleged key operative of the network. The accused have been sent to judicial custody until October 19 as investigators continue examining the wider network.

Authorities are also reportedly scrutinising around 16 foreign medical graduates suspected of obtaining forged documents through the alleged racket.

How Was the Alleged FMGE Racket Detected?

The investigation began after discrepancies were reportedly detected during scrutiny of applications submitted for medical registration in Maharashtra.

Investigators found that some foreign medical graduates who had allegedly failed to clear the required FMGE screening test were nevertheless in possession of documents that appeared to show successful qualification and eligibility for medical registration.

The case was subsequently referred for a cyber and criminal investigation.
