Bihar DElEd First Selection List 2026 Today
The First Selection List is an important stage of Bihar DElEd counselling for admission to the 2026-28 session.
Only candidates who qualified the Bihar DElEd Joint Entrance Examination 2026 and subsequently completed the CAF process are considered for the counselling and selection process. The official portal states that the minimum qualifying requirement for CAF eligibility is 35%, or 42 marks, for General-category candidates and 30%, or 36 marks, for Reserved-category candidates.
However, simply meeting the minimum qualifying marks does not guarantee admission to a particular institution.

Who Can Check the First Selection List?
The selection list is relevant for candidates who:
Qualified Bihar DElEd Joint Entrance Examination 2026
Met the prescribed qualifying requirements
Completed the CAF process
Submitted institution preferences
Participated in the counselling process
The official counselling portal clearly states that only candidates who qualified the 2026 Joint Entrance Test were eligible to fill the CAF for the 2026-28 admission session.
How Is Bihar DElEd Seat Allotment Prepared?
BSEB's established DElEd counselling framework considers multiple factors when preparing selection lists.
These include:
Entrance examination score/rank
Number of approved seats in DElEd institutions
Institution choices submitted by candidates
Applicable reservation rules
Official counselling documents from the preceding cycle confirm these core allotment factors.
Therefore, two candidates with similar scores may receive different institutions depending on their category, preferences and seat availability.
What to Check After First Selection List Release
Candidates should carefully verify their selection information after the list becomes available.
Important details include:
Candidate details
Application information
Merit/selection status
Allotted DElEd institution
Category
Reporting instructions
Admission deadline
Slide-up eligibility, where applicable
Any discrepancy should be raised through the official mechanism instead of being ignored.
Bihar DElEd Admission From August 27 to 31
Candidates selected in the First Selection List will have a relatively short period to complete their admission.
Admission Window:
August 27 to August 31, 2026
Jagran Josh reports that candidates included in the first list must complete the admission process during this period.
Candidates should therefore prepare their academic and counselling documents before checking the result.
Documents to Keep Ready for Bihar DElEd Admission
Based on BSEB's established DElEd admission requirements, candidates should be prepared with documents such as:
- Selection/intimation letter
- Common Application Form printout
- Class 10 marksheet
- Class 10 passing certificate
- Class 12 marksheet
- Class 12 passing certificate
- College/School Leaving Certificate, where required
- Migration Certificate, where applicable
- Caste/Reservation Certificate, where applicable
- Other category certificates, if claimed
- Passport-size photographs
- Self-attested photocopies of required documents
- Other documents specified by the allotted institution
Candidates should follow the 2026 admission instructions accompanying their selection rather than relying solely on previous-year requirements. BSEB's previous counselling instructions required selected candidates to produce original academic documents along with copies during institutional admission.
What Is the Slide-Up Process?
The slide-up facility is important for candidates who receive an institution in the first list but want consideration for a higher preference submitted during counselling.
For the First Selection List, the slide-up facility is scheduled from:
August 27 to August 31, 2026.
Candidates considering slide-up should carefully read BSEB's instructions before selecting the option because the applicable admission and seat-retention rules can affect their counselling status.
Bihar DElEd Second Selection List 2026
Candidates who do not receive a seat in the first selection list may still have an opportunity in subsequent counselling.
The Bihar DElEd Second Selection List is currently scheduled for:
September 5, 2026.
The second list will depend on factors such as remaining vacancies and the counselling rules applicable after first-round admissions.
Candidates should therefore continue monitoring the portal even if they are not selected today.
First Selection List vs Entrance Exam Result
Candidates should distinguish between the Bihar DElEd entrance result and the counselling selection list.
| Entrance Result | First Selection List |
|---|---|
| Shows entrance performance | Shows counselling selection/allotment |
| Determines whether candidate qualified | Determines admission opportunity |
| Released after entrance examination | Released after CAF/counselling |
| Does not itself allot an institution | Linked to institution allocation |
| Used for counselling eligibility | Used for admission/reporting |
Qualifying the entrance examination therefore does not automatically mean that a candidate has received admission.
Bihar DElEd Qualifying Marks
The official 2026-28 CAF portal lists the following minimum entrance qualifying requirements:
General Category:
35% – 42 Marks
Reserved Categories:
30% – 36 Marks.
These are qualifying requirements for participation in the admission process and should not be confused with institution-wise admission cutoffs.
Bihar DElEd Cut-Off 2026
Institution-wise and category-wise cutoffs can vary depending on:
Candidate ranks
Number of seats
Institution preferences
Reservation category
Stream
Demand for a particular institution
For context, BSEB's previous counselling cycle published detailed institution-wise Round 1 cutoffs separately.
Candidates should therefore wait for the applicable 2026 cutoff information rather than using previous-year closing ranks as guaranteed admission thresholds.
What If Your Name Is Not in the First Selection List?
Candidates who are not selected in the first list should not assume that their counselling process is over.
They should:
Check their candidate login carefully.
Verify their submitted preferences.
Monitor the portal for vacancy and cutoff updates.
Wait for the Second Selection List.
Check whether any additional action is required.
The Second Selection List is scheduled for September 5, 2026.
What Selected Candidates Should Do Today
Candidates selected in the first list should first download or save their selection information and check the allotted institution.
They should then read the admission instructions carefully, arrange the required original documents and complete the institutional admission process before August 31.
Candidates interested in a higher preference should also check the slide-up rules because that facility is available during the same August 27-31 period.
