The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the Institute of National Importance Super-Speciality (INI-SS) Entrance Test 2026 Stage 1 results for the July session. Candidates who appeared for the examination on April 25, 2026, can now check and download the roll number-wise result PDF from the official website aiimsexams.ac.in.
The INI-SS entrance examination is conducted for admission to highly specialised postgraduate medical courses such as DM (Doctorate of Medicine) and MCh (Magister Chirurgiae). These programmes are offered by premier Institutes of National Importance across India, including AIIMS New Delhi, new AIIMS campuses, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
With the declaration of the Stage 1 result, candidates who have qualified will now move forward to the next phase of the selection process. They will be required to appear for the departmental assessment, which forms Stage 2 of the admission procedure. This stage is crucial as final selection is based on performance in both stages combined with merit evaluation.
AIIMS typically releases two merit lists for INI-SS admissions — the Common Merit List (CML) and the AIIMS Merit List. Only candidates whose names appear in the AIIMS Merit List will be eligible to participate in the second stage of counselling and admission process. Therefore, qualifying Stage 1 does not guarantee final admission, but it is a mandatory step toward selection.
