NBEMS Issues NEET PG 2026 Advisory on Reporting of MCC-Allotted Seats
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued reporting and joining instructions for candidates allotted NBEMS-accredited postgraduate medical seats through Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) NEET PG All India Quota counselling. The October 24, 2026 advisory covers seat acceptance, course-fee payment, hospital verification and joining deadlines. It applies to NBEMS seats, including relevant DNB and DrNB programmes, and candidates should follow the MCC schedule for their counselling round.
Key Instructions for Allotted Candidates
| Situation | What the advisory says |
|---|---|
| FREEZE option | Pay the first-year annual course fee directly to the NBEMS-accredited hospital where the seat is allotted. |
| FLOAT option | No first-year course fee is due while waiting for possible upgradation in a later round. |
| Document checks | The hospital must verify original documents, eligibility and valid category certificates, where applicable. |
| Medical fitness | The hospital’s medical board examines candidates; only candidates found medically fit may join. |
| Joining status | The hospital must update reporting and joining status on the Intra-MCC portal within the prescribed schedule. |
Candidates who choose FLOAT must continue to follow MCC’s upgradation process. If their seat is upgraded, the training period is counted from the date they report and join the upgraded seat. If they are not upgraded, they must report to and join the seat already allotted within the applicable round’s joining window. The advisory says the training period will be counted from the joining date within that window.
Reporting and Fee Pointers
- Download and review the MCC allotment letter, then contact the allotted hospital about its document-verification and joining procedure.
- Keep original eligibility, academic and category documents ready for verification.
- Pay the first-year course fee to the hospital only when joining by choosing FREEZE; NBEMS will not collect this fee in its own account during counselling.
- Employed candidates or candidates bound by a service bond should arrange the required No Objection Certificate, study leave or relieving documents before joining.
- Do not assume a reporting extension will be granted. Any request connected with release from employment is not automatic and may be considered for up to 90 days subject to the advisory’s conditions.
