Why Was a Special Vacancy Round Conducted?
The special allocation is intended to address vacancies remaining after earlier decentralised counselling rounds. Seats may remain available when candidates withdraw, do not complete admission or move to another eligible institution.
WBJEEB is conducting the special allocation through an upgradation mechanism using existing candidate preferences, merit positions and available seats. Consequently, candidates do not need to submit a new preference list specifically for this round.
What Candidates Must Do After Allotment
- Verify the details of the newly allocated seat.
- Complete the applicable online seat acceptance process.
- Pay the prescribed fee if required by the allocation instructions.
- Download the system-generated Provisional Admission Receipt.
- Visit the allotted institution for physical verification.
- Present original certificates and supporting documents.
- Complete admission confirmation within the deadline.
- Check any additional instructions concerning multiple allocations or withdrawal.
Documents Required for WBJEE Admission Verification
Allotted candidates should keep their WBJEE rank card, counselling registration details, provisional admission receipt, educational certificates, identity proof and applicable reservation or domicile documents ready. Participating institutions may require additional documents depending on the admission category and programme.
What Happens If Candidates Miss the Deadline?
Candidates who fail to complete the required acceptance and verification procedures risk losing their allocation under the applicable counselling rules. Simply receiving an allotment does not establish confirmed admission.
WBJEEB may announce additional vacancy-related activities if seats remain available, but candidates should not assume that another round is guaranteed. Applicants should complete all prescribed formalities by October 3 and monitor official counselling notifications for any subsequent developments.
