Candidates participating in Odisha NEET UG 2026 state counselling can now check their provisional merit position before the Round 3 choice-filling process begins.
The merit list applies to candidates participating in counselling for state-quota MBBS and BDS seats. OJEE has also published the vacancy position after Round 2 and separate notices for candidates applying under PwBD and ex-servicemen categories.

What Does the Provisional Merit List Mean?
The provisional list reflects the state merit position of eligible candidates after the third registration phase. It is not the Round 3 seat-allotment result. The list can be revised after examination of valid queries or corrections before OJEE publishes the final state merit list.
Candidates should therefore use the final merit list, scheduled for October 1 at 5:30 PM, when assessing their position for the upcoming choice-filling and allotment stages.
How to Check Odisha NEET UG Provisional Merit List
- Visit the official OJEE counselling portal.
- Open the MBBS/BDS counselling section.
- Select the provisional state merit list after 3rd phase registration.
- Open or download the merit-list document.
- Search for your name, NEET details or state rank.
- Check the category and candidate information carefully.
- Review the final merit list once it is published.
- Proceed to choice filling within the notified Round 3 window.
Round 3 Choice Filling Starts Today
Choice filling is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM on October 1 and continue until 11:59 PM on October 4. Eligible candidates can select and arrange available MBBS and BDS colleges according to their preferences.
Seat allotment will depend on the candidate's final state merit position, NEET UG rank, category eligibility, submitted choices and available seats.
Vacancy Position After Round 2
OJEE has separately published the state-quota vacancy position remaining after completion of Round 2 admissions. Candidates should review this document before locking preferences because the available seats in Round 3 may differ substantially from the original college intake.
A vacant seat shown before choice filling does not guarantee allotment because multiple candidates can compete for the same college and category.
What Happens After Choice Filling?
OJEE is scheduled to publish the provisional Round 3 allotment on October 6. Candidates will then have an opportunity to raise queries before the final allotment is issued on October 8.
Allotted candidates must subsequently complete the required admission fee payment and physical reporting procedures between October 11 and 15, including verification of original documents and submission of any prescribed bond or admission forms.
What Candidates Should Do Now
Since the provisional-merit-list query deadline has already passed, candidates should now watch for the final state merit list due at 5:30 PM on October 1. They should also prepare their preferred college order before choice filling begins later in the evening.
Candidates should rely on the latest OJEE vacancy matrix and final merit position rather than older Round 1 or Round 2 seat figures while making their Round 3 choices.
